Hungarian Police Arrest 15 in Global Human Trafficking Operation

The operation ran from June 8 to 12 under the EMPACT platform and focused on preventing sexual exploitation, forced criminality, and forced begging. In Hungary, authorities checked 5,103 people, inspected 1,847 vehicles, searched 673 locations, and launched proceedings against 15 suspects for human trafficking and forced labor. [2] Hungarian authorities carried out extensive checks during the five-day operation, including 4,565 documents checked, with stops and inspections at business premises in the service sector, entertainment venues, private residences, massage parlors, agricultural facilities, and border crossing points. 15 Suspects Face Human Trafficking Charges
Of the 15 Hungarian suspects, 12 are accused of sexual exploitation, two of labor exploitation, and one of exploiting victims for forced begging. [2] Criminal proceedings were launched against the 15 Hungarian suspects on suspicion of human trafficking and forced labor. Seven Victims Rescued in Hungary
Hungarian police identified and rescued seven victims, including two minors subjected to sexual exploitation and four victims of forced labor. [2] During the operation, investigators also managed to rescue and identify seven victims from exploitative situations, among whom three victims of sexual exploitation included two minors. [2]
