A woman in her 50s died Tuesday from burns sustained in the July 23 arson at an apartment management office in Gyeongsan, South Korea, bringing the death toll to four. [1] The attack occurred on July 23 when an apartment resident, surnamed Ryu, poured flammable material inside the office and set it on fire, injuring eight people, including himself. Pakistan Arrests in Husband Poisoning Case
In Faisalabad, Pakistan, a woman named Asma Bibi and her friend Babar Ali were arrested for allegedly poisoning her husband Azhar Ali to death and attempting to poison their three daughters on July 23 so she could marry Ali. [2] Faisalabad’s Saddar police arrested on Monday a woman and her friend for poisoning her husband to death and also administering poison to her three minor daughters who were saved by doctors. [2] Complainant Muhammad Tahir alleged in his FIR that on July 23, his brother Azhar Ali died mysteriously at his house in Sitara Park locality on Jaranwala Road in Faisalabad while his three nieces lost consciousness. [2] He added that they came to know later that Azhar’s wife Asma Bibi had relations with one Babar Ali of Lahore and they both administered poison to Azhar and three daughters as a part of the plan to contract marriage. Teenage Girl Dies by Suicide After Alleged Gang Rape in Pakistan
A 17-year-old girl in Gujrat, Pakistan, died by suicide after allegedly being gang-raped by five men from her village. [3] GUJRAT: A 17-year-old girl, who was allegedly gang-raped by five suspects, later “died by suicide” under mysterious circumstances at Sanda village in Mandi Bahauddin district in Miana Gondal police precincts on Monday. [3] The complainant, Zulfiqar Ahmed, of Sanda village told police that he had gone to a local shop to buy something, leaving his daughter “M” (17) alone at his house. [3] He said that when he returned, he found his daughter lying dead. [3] Explaining the reason for the his daughter’s extreme step, he said that in his absence, five suspects of the same village allegedly abducted ‘M’ and took her to a place in the area, where they subjected her to gang rape and later dropped her at his house. [3] He added that as his daughter was dejected over her ordeal, she took poisonous pills and ended her life. [3] As per police sources, there were also cuts on the wrists of the girl’s body. [3] The police, however, registered a case against the five nominated suspects under Section 322 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which deals with an unlawful act without any intention to cause death or harm, but that act accidentally results in someone’s death. [3] The police say they have begun investigation into the matter after registration of the case, adding that the allegation of gang rape is yet to be ascertained as medical report of the victim is awaited. Indonesian Police Seize Large Ecstasy and Etomidate Haul
Aceh police in Indonesia seized 50,000 ecstasy pills, 2,495 vape cartridges and 4,000 ml of etomidate liquid from an active village chief identified as RB, who said he obtained the drugs from a suspect called Pablo alias AH. South Korean and U.S. authorities issued a joint advisory on the Gunra ransomware, which targets critical infrastructure and uses a double-extortion model.
