Zelenskyy Reports 50,000 Ukrainian Troops Killed in Ukraine War
In the Ukraine war President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reported that Ukraine has lost around 50,000 soldiers killed and 400,000 wounded. [1] The Ukrainian leader provided these figures during an interview with Fox News anchor Bret Baier while noting that a significant number of personnel are also missing. [1] He contrasted the Ukrainian losses with his estimate that Russia has suffered 1,600,000 total losses including around 700,000 deaths. [1] Zelenskyy added that he did not wish to be fully open about the numbers because the Russians would understand what is happening with the Ukrainian army. [1]

Link Between Middle East Conflict and Ukraine Support
Zelenskyy believes Russia is supplying Iran with drones and satellite imagery to prolong the Middle East conflict and thereby reduce US support for Ukraine. [1] He noted that Russia has supplied Iran with drones for strikes on Middle Eastern countries and Israel. [1] The Ukrainian president said Russia has also provided satellite imagery showing the locations of US bases in the Middle East. [1] Zelenskyy stated that Russia is very happy that there is no real ending to the war in the Middle East because the United States cannot help Ukraine on the same level as before for example with Patriots. [1] He indicated that he believes the US conflict with Iran is linked to the Russia-Ukraine war although he has not discussed this with the American president. [2]
Changes in Ukrainian Assault Unit Staffing
Newly appointed Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Mykhailo Drapatyi ordered assault regiments to suspend intake of additional personnel from 26 July. [3] The order directed the assault regiments of the Ground Forces to suspend the intake of additional personnel from 26 July. [3] Sources in three assault regiments reported that they can no longer take people from the reserve battalions or people who have been newly conscripted. Daily Russian Losses
Russia lost 1,340 soldiers and 413 vehicles over the past day bringing total estimated losses since February 2022 to approximately 1,446,150 personnel. [4] The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Russia has lost 1,340 soldiers killed and wounded as well as 413 vehicles and fuel tankers over the past day. [4] The total combat losses of the Russian forces between 24 February 2022 and 31 July 2026 are estimated at approximately 1,446,150 military personnel. [4] Additional cumulative losses include 12,231 tanks 25,056 armoured combat vehicles 47,045 artillery systems and 1,976 multiple-launch rocket systems. [4] The figures also list 1,525 air defence systems 439 fixed-wing aircraft 354 helicopters 2,081 ground robotic systems 435,665 operational-tactical UAVs and 5,005 cruise missiles. [4] Further totals cover 34 ships/boats 2 submarines 128,034 vehicles and fuel tankers and 4,483 special vehicles and other equipment. [4]
