WW3 Map Updates Show AI Turrets Downing Russian Geran-5 Drones Over Kyiv
Recent ww3 map updates show Ukraine deploying 12 AI-controlled machine-gun turrets in Kyiv that have recorded first shoot-downs of Russian Geran-5 jet-powered drones. [1] Russia continues drone attacks on Ukrainian cities and infrastructure while Ukraine maintains strikes on Russian oil facilities and reports rising Russian personnel losses from drone operations. [1]
AI Turrets Deployed in Kyiv
Ukraine has installed 12 AI-controlled machine-gun turrets in the capital as of the weekend before October 5, 2026, with another eight planned. [1] The turrets are armed with 12.7mm heavy machine guns and use machine vision to target drones during the final phase of flight when they come within range. [1] Air force spokesperson Yuri Ihnat stated on Monday that the AI-assisted turrets, which receive information from other air-defence components, had achieved their first shoot-downs including of Geran-5 drones. [1] Ukrainian expert Anatoliy Khrapchynskyi noted the risk that fully autonomous turrets pose to civilians, though he added that the rule against standing by windows during air-raid alerts has applied to any weapon since the start of the war. [1] Serhii Beskrestnov warned that for safety people should not stand by windows during an air-raid alert. [1] The turrets have a small operating radius of about one kilometre plus and work when conditions are favourable and the attack approach angle is suitable. [5] Air force spokesperson colonel Yuri Ignat described them as part of an integrated air defence system that engages targets at different tiers. [5] Russian Telegram channel Two Majors noted that while Ukraine was already using AI turrets in practice, bureaucracy and high costs were holding back similar projects in Russia. [1]
Russian Jet Drone Campaign
Russia has significantly increased its use of jet drones since July, with them currently accounting for approximately 40 percent of all deployed UAVs. [2] Ukraine's Air Force projects that this percentage will rise to 80 percent. [2] The speed of jet drones currently used by the Russians reaches up to 600 km/h, though the Air Force projects that Russia will increase the speed to 800-900 km/h. [2] Active work is ongoing with 20 manufacturing companies communicating with the Air Force on jet interceptor UAVs, with test flights already conducted by 14 companies. [2] Six companies have achieved certain results in destroying jet drones and three companies have results that the Air Force considers promising. [2] Supply of jet drone interceptors on the required scale is not expected earlier than the end of November. [2] Russian Gerans targeted bridges in Kyiv and then attacked bridges in Zaporizhzhia overnight from Monday to Tuesday, injuring five city residents including two Red Cross workers. [1] A video showed an entire bridge across the Dnipro in Kyiv wrapped in a counter-drone net. [1]

Ukrainian Strikes on Russian Oil Infrastructure
Ukraine reports that it has disabled 51 percent of Russian refinery capacity. [1] New minister Yevhen Khmara stated that more than half of the enemy's capacity has been taken out of operation as the result of carefully planned, methodical and systematic work aimed at exhausting Russia's war machine and destroying its military-economic potential. [1] Footage emerged on Tuesday morning of another fire at oil infrastructure in Russia at the Volodarskaya production and distribution centre in Moscow region. [1] The facility lies just under 40 km southeast of central Moscow and contains a large oil depot as well as a pipeline junction through which fuel flows to Moscow including aviation fuel for Moscow's airports. [1]
Frontline Developments and Russian Losses
During the first five days of October, Unmanned Systems Forces units killed and wounded 2,699 Russian soldiers, all confirmed in the DELTA battlefield situational awareness system. [3] This figure represents a 39.7 percent rise compared to the same period in September when 1,931 Russian soldiers were killed and wounded by the same units. [3] The most significant surge was recorded on the Dobropillia-Pokrovsk front within the sector of the 1st Azov Corps of Ukraine's National Guard, where operators killed and wounded 1,268 Russian soldiers during the first five days of October. [3] Russia still sees a large pocket of encircled Ukrainians in Kharkiv region, but no such pocket exists according to independent OSINT analysis. [1] Respected OSINT project Playfra described Russian infiltration attempts in the Bilyi Kolodyaz-Velykyi Burluk directions as chaotic and unorganised and unequivocally rejected any encirclement. [1] Ukraine says it destroyed a Russian Su-34 and Su-35 on the ground at Khanskaya airfield in Krasnodar region over the weekend, though satellite imagery provides no clear evidence of what exploded and burned. Civilian Conditions in Occupied Kherson
In occupied Oleshky in the Kherson region, only 12 of more than 60 residents who left the city in September reached Ukrainian-controlled territory. [4] The others either left for the neighboring settlement of Radensk approximately 15 kilometres away to find food and return or stayed in other occupied towns in Kherson Oblast. [4] Most of those who left the city in September are still in the occupied territory, with some lacking documents and most forced to return because they have relatives who cannot get about on their own or children they cannot lead through a minefield. [4] Four people attempting to leave the town in recent weeks stepped on a mine and were injured, while a man collecting nuts was killed by another mine along routes used by civilians. [4] The local hospital operates without basic medical supplies, electricity or running water, with four elderly former staff doctors continuing to work there. [4] Around 2,000 people including nearly 50 children remain in the occupied town with severely limited access to food, drinking water, electricity and other basic services. [4]
Current Battlefield Maps and Videos
ww3 map updates for the Kharkiv region were produced by the Russian defence ministry and shown by Two Majors on its Telegram account. [1] Videos of the day show intense trench fighting, Russians shooting down a balloon carrying an FPV drone, Russia reviving the idea of a barrage of tethered balloons, and ground drones repelling an FPV drone attack using a counter-drone net from both sides. [1] Satellite images showing clear traces of explosions and fire appeared relatively quickly after the incident at Khanskaya airfield, but it is not possible to identify what exploded and burned. [1]
What to watch next: Ukraine's Air Force projects Russia will increase jet drone speeds to 800-900 km/h with their share rising to 80 percent of all deployed UAVs, while test flights of jet interceptor UAVs continue ahead of scaled supply expected no earlier than the end of November.
