Ukraine Strikes Hit Russian Ozon Warehouses for Second Day as Moscow Attacks Kill Seven
Ukraine strikes on Russian logistics sites have expanded for a second day, coinciding with fresh Russian drone and missile attacks that killed at least seven people across Ukraine.
Russian Strike on Mondelēz Factory in Sumy
Russian forces launched a drone attack on a factory belonging to American corporation Mondelēz International in Trostianets in Sumy Oblast, injuring five people. [1] Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that two Russian drone strikes damaged the plant's premises and injured several employees, with no casualties reported. [1] The five injured included two men aged 63 and 50 and three women aged 41, 43 and 53, according to the Sumy Oblast Prosecutor's Office. [1] Sybiha noted that persistent and deliberate Russian attacks on American business interests in Ukraine demonstrate that Russian aggression is not only a threat to Ukraine but also a direct blow to American economic interests in Europe. [1] The facility had been attacked earlier this year, including in June and February. [1]
Drone Attack on Kharkiv Oblast Train
A Russian drone struck a Lozova-Kharkiv electric-powered train at the Lymanivka station in Kharkiv Oblast, killing two passengers and injuring five people. [5] Passengers had been evacuated from the train due to the threat of a drone strike, but some remained near the railway infrastructure, leading to fatal consequences. [5] One female passenger was killed at the scene, and another woman aged 34 later died in hospital from 90 percent burns. [5] The injured included a child, with the 11-year-old daughter of the deceased woman suffering burns and remaining in serious condition. [5] Ukraine's Minister for Recovery, Infrastructure and Transport Mykola Kalashnyk stressed that it is essential to strictly follow the instructions of railway workers during evacuations and under no circumstances remain near rolling stock due to the threat of repeat strikes. [5] Russian forces attacked the train a second time while rescue workers were operating at the scene, though no additional casualties occurred. [5]

[4] One person was killed and another wounded when ballistic missiles hit railway infrastructure in Kyiv overnight. [4] Two people were killed in a Russian ballistic missile strike on the Kyiv region on Saturday afternoon. [4] Russian drone strikes killed one person overnight in the Zaporizhzhia region, while a daytime attack killed three others and wounded 15. [4] Three people were also wounded in an attack on a minibus in the regional capital Zaporizhzhia. [4] These attacks came a day after a Russian strike on a shopping centre in Kryvyi Rih killed at least 16 people and wounded 130, with four people remaining missing. [4] Moscow’s forces have recently intensified their ballistic missile attacks on Kyiv. [4]
Ukrainian Drone Campaign Against Russian Logistics
Ukraine on Sunday hit a warehouse belonging to Russian e-commerce giant Ozon for the second day running. [2] A fire broke out at an Ozon logistics hub in the central Orenburg region after a drone attack, with operations at the warehouse currently suspended. [2] The strike came a day after an Ozon centre in the neighbouring Samara region was hit, wounding an unspecified number of workers. [2] A logistics centre next to an Ozon facility on the outskirts of Saint Petersburg was also hit overnight. [2] Ukraine's military said it is launching a new campaign targeting Ozon after hitting the 15 largest logistics hubs of Wildberries. [2] The attacks on the warehouses have already delivered economic losses worth billions of dollars, with several facilities completely destroyed. [2]

Putin's Reaction and Threats of Retaliation
President Putin stated that the Kyiv regime opened a Pandora's box by targeting Russia's economy and threatened retaliation against the most sensitive sectors of Ukraine's economy, including agriculture. [3] He described Ukrainian proposals for a peaceful resolution of the conflict as exotic and unacceptable. [3] Putin said Russia is always ready for dialogue but only on the basis of territorial reality. [3] He claimed that Russian units have accelerated the pace of advance and are confidently fulfilling the tasks of the special military operation. [3] Putin added that enemy actions have not affected the state of affairs at the front and that Russian strikes are much more destructive than Ukrainian ones. [3]
Context of Ongoing Strikes on Civilian Infrastructure
Russian forces have launched repeated attacks on Ukrainian civilian sites, including the Mondelēz factory in Sumy Oblast and a passenger train in Kharkiv Oblast. [1] [5] A day after the Kryvyi Rih shopping mall attack that killed 16 and wounded 130, further Russian strikes killed at least seven across Kyiv, the Kyiv region and Zaporizhzhia. [4] At the same time, Ukraine has expanded long-range drone strikes on Russian oil facilities and retail logistics targets such as Wildberries and Ozon warehouses, causing fires, suspending operations and inflicting billions in economic losses. [2] [4] Putin pledged support for Wildberries amid the strikes, saying the government would help rebuild logistics hubs. [2]
What to watch next: Ukrainian forces struck the Novokuibyshevsk oil refinery in Samara, and Russian authorities reported damage at an industrial facility and an Ozon logistics centre in the region.
