Guatemala's Santiaguito volcano continued its characteristic activity on September 22 with constant gas and ash emissions reaching 400-800 meters weak to moderate explosions incandescence and avalanches unaffected by a concurrent magnitude 5.2 earthquake. [2] Además de la emisión de gases y ceniza reportada por el Insivumeh el sitio Volcano Discovery informó sobre emisiones ocasionales de ceniza volcánica y señaló que el último aviso del Centro de Avisos de Cenizas Volcánicas (VAAC) de Washington de este 22 de septiembre a las 8:30 horas pronosticaba que la ceniza continuaría desplazándose hacia el oeste.
