Recent Killings in Plateau Communities

At least 10 people died in separate incidents across Plateau last week, including herders and farmers, with three young herders and about 50 cattle killed in Mangu. [3] Two individuals were killed in separate incidents along the Jong-Nyerwai road and at Dorowa Babuje in Barkin Ladi on Wednesday, according to security sources. [3] One victim was identified as Ishaku Yakubu, 19, a herder from Jong. [3] Another herder, Yakubu Ishaku, was reportedly killed at Nyerwai in Barkin Ladi on Friday. [3] Troops reportedly arrested five suspected criminals in Jos East on 7 September during a raid on known hideouts. [3] The following day, troops reported the arrest of 14 suspected criminals during another operation in the state. [3] In Barkin Ladi, soldiers arrested three suspects after the killing of 17-year-old Peter Gyang at Kafi-Abu village.
