The Illawarra Nepali community in Australia held a Mahamrityunjaya Mantra prayer service on August 30 at Sri Venkateswara Temple in Helensburgh to pray for the injured, the traumatized and the souls of the deceased. [1] It's a prayer for the recovery of the all injured people and then healing for the whole trauma in people, for the healing of them. And, whoever passed away, for their departed soul as well. [1] Wollongong Illawarra Nepali Community president Narayan Prasad Chapagain attended the service and has been contacting local Nepali and Indian people to see if they know anyone affected and to offer his support. [1] With the situation still rapidly evolving as rescue crews search for anyone trapped, Mr Chapagain is holding out hope some may have survived the devastation.
