Teenager succumbs to burns from Kharkiv drone strike
Thirteen-year-old Oleksandr Tsiatska sustained severe burns as a result of a Russian strike on the village of Katerynivka in Kharkiv Oblast on 21 September and later died in hospital. [2] His mother, Iryna Tsiatska, was killed in the same attack. [2] Oleksandr suffered burns to approximately 60% of his body, with 20% being critically severe. [2] Doctors tried to save Oleksandr's life, but he died from his injuries. [2] Serhii Zelenskyi, Head of the Lozova hromada, stated on Telegram: "Oleksandr Tsiatska has died. The Lozova hromada bows its head in deep sorrow once again. Words cannot express the despair and grief that fill the hearts of every one of us right now." [2] On 21 September, Russian forces struck a house in the village of Katerynivka in the Lozova hromada in Kharkiv Oblast using a drone. [2] Iryna was a master craftswoman and volunteer who assisted the Ukrainian military. [2]

Deadly strikes hit Kyiv districts
A man was killed after a Russian drone struck a non-residential building in Kyiv’s Solomianskyi district early on 27 September. [3] Firefighters found the man’s body while extinguishing the blaze at the site. [3] At another location in the same district, a drone hit a single-storey vehicle service station, starting a fire that emergency crews prevented from spreading to a nearby food establishment. [3] The SES said both fires were brought under control at around 3am. [3] In Kyiv itself, officials reported additional damage in the Solomianskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts, including to a school, warehouses and communications facilities, with several people injured, among them two 16-year-old girls. [3]
Odesa region suffers residential and infrastructure damage
In the Odesa region, authorities said a separate mass strike killed one person and injured two others. [3] The strike damaged a residential building, a medical facility, a hotel, a shop and a grain storage site. [3]
Chernihiv Oblast targeted in continued attacks
Russian forces attacked a business in Semenivka in northeastern Chernihiv Oblast with a Molniya drone. [4] On the evening of 27 September, Russian forces struck a residential area in Novhorod-Siverskyi with a drone. [4] Four people were injured: two girls aged 15 and 17 and two young men aged 19 and 27. [4] The two men are in hospital and their condition is stable. [4] Several residential buildings were damaged in the attack. [4] Russian forces also attacked critical infrastructure in the oblast with drones on the morning of 28 September. [4]
Additional strike on Zhytomyr food plant
On the night of 27-28 September, Russian forces attacked a food processing plant in the Zhytomyr district. [4]
